- Generated when aluminum concentrade is melted
- Medium hardness and good abrasion caused by high sharpness
- Water insoluble, no metallic components, not cunductive
- Used as blast material for the most ordinary corrosion protection works
- Suitable for concrete works and preservation of structures because of tranparent dust
- Square-edged grain
- Colour black to brownish
- Hardness 7 Mohs
- Specific weight 2.5 g/cm³
