There are very bright 3-colour LEDs for remote detection. These are arranged at the front, rear and side.
Versus function: The receiver monitors the reference height of the rotating laser and thus prevents incorrect measurements. Optical and acoustic signals indicate when the laser beam leaves the reference height, e.g. due to external influences on the rotating laser.
