- The PIG® Essentials Oil-Only oil barrier is suitable for long-term use on water. It acts as a containment system large enough to deal with spills of almost any size.
- The PIG® Essentials Oil-Only oil barrier is filled with a highly absorbent core and enclosed in a tear-resistant nylon mesh. The barrier will not sink even when completely saturated with oil. The polypropylene filling is hydrophobic; it repels water (and floats on it), but absorbs oils and other hydrocarbons. The nylon webbing and its tear-resistant construction ensure extra strength during deployment and retrieval. The booms are fitted with clamps and connecting rings, allowing the booms to be linked together easily and efficiently. The integrated connectors can be used to create a containment system large enough to deal with spills of almost any size. The white colour makes it immediately apparent when the absorbent material is fully saturated. This ensures the oil boom is not discarded prematurely, thereby saving money.
